Default what to program in

Hi

I've setup a pc running suse 9.2 and I'm very pleased with it. I would like
to write programs that will run on my Linux pc. this is where I did some
help.

up until now I've been using visual basic 6 and I feel very comfortable with
object orientated programming, and would like to continue along this road if
possible with Linux.

any help would be much appreciated.

regards

Stevie P
