Default star laserprinter 4 and 4 III

hi,

over here I do have a Star Laserprinter 4 and a 4 III
the '4' is working well,
the 4 III not, but has an expansion memory board..
would like to take that board and put it in the slot of the '4'....

this doesn't seem to fit, I cannot see why not..
the slots seem identical (peering through the case-opening)

are these boards *not* interchangable, or should I be more brutal ;-))

tx,
rob
(don't have manuals of both machines..)
