Quick Google for "Folkert Rienstra" was sure to bring up some cheap

Third International Conference on Software Quality
Winning in the `90's -- The Quality Way ...
October 4-6, 1993
Hyatt Regency, Lake Tahoe, Nevada

Come hear the latest advances in Software Quality Assurance. Speakers
from Japan, Europe and America share information on ISO 9000 &
Software, SEI's CMM, QFD for Software, Metrics, Process Improvements,
Risk Impacts and more... Two full days of Conference Sessions &
Vendor Exhibitions. 10 Tutorials on Wednesday, a Banquet dinner
Monday evening, and numerous guest tours.

snip

- ISO 9000 Within a Software Development Environment -
Folkert Rienstra is the cofounder and chairman of the European
Agreement Group for assessment and certification of Quality Systems in
the Information Technology Sector.

I wonder if it is the same person - such a different area of
expertise than what a denizen of the storage newsgroups would
have.

Regards,

Michael

I would surely think that a person with the qualifications to be the
"co-founder and chairman" of something called the "European Agreement Group"
would be able to conduct oneselft in a much more civilized and professional
way.

It seems too glaringly incongruous to be the same person.

Gee, I wonder how many people are/were members of "European Agreement Group for
assessment and certification of Quality Systems in the Information Technology
Sector." From what I read in the software development trade rags, ISO 9000 has
not made it into software at all, which says something about a now 14-year old
effort to get it to happen. Certainly Microsoft has NEVER gotten any message
about ISO 9000... Ben Myers

And while we're at it, is "Folkert Rienstra's" brain ISO 9000 certified? Any
doctors in the house? I can't help myself when someone posts crude and
obnoxious messages ridiculing others, one after another... Ben Myers

Yep - it's got you so wound up, you're top-posting on top of your own
top-posted posts :-)

ISO 9000 is about documentation, not really about quality. To get ISO 9000
certification, you simply need to document what you do and audit that you
are doing it.
