Default a7a266 with fsb100 and multiplier 17 ?

hello newsgroup,

i just updated my old asus a7a266 with an athlon xp2100 processor. as my
memory is rather old too, i have to set the fsb to 100. setting up the
multiplier for the processor to 17 via bios (jumperless mode) only gives my
a real multiplier of 13. windows says the cpu is running with 1300 mhz
instead of 1700 mhz.

what can i do to make it run with fastest speed ? setting the fsb to 130
crashed my computer after a few minutes (but windows says the cpu is running
with the correct speed....)

any help is welcome, thanks in advance,
erwin
