Can Roxio and Nero be installed on the same machine.
I have Nero installed on my machine. However, according to a Microsoft
article 315350. The XP writer is actually from Roxio. I like the Nero software better - just personal preference. However, in order to be compatible with my school, I need to use the internal XP software. Is there any way that Nero and Roxio can be installed on the same machine at the same time without bumping heads? Thanks, Ken |

It is InCD that will clash with the XP burning engine, not Nero. The two
otherwise work happily together. -- Graham Mayor Ken Applequist wrote: I have Nero installed on my machine. However, according to a Microsoft article 315350. The XP writer is actually from Roxio. Theyve been working OK for me since EZCD 5.1xxxx. |

Is there any way that Nero and Roxio can be installed on the same machine
at the same time without bumping heads? Actually, there isn't any way to install Roxio on the same machine by itself without it bumping heads with itself. It gets really hopeless if you have any other software on the machine :-). -- == The *Best* political site URL:http://www.vote-smart.org/ ==+ email: icbm: Delray Beach, FL | URL:http://home.att.net/~Tom.Horsley Free Software and Politics ==+ |

Nero itself and Easy CD Creator from Roxio, and the inbuilt burning of XP generate the same ISO sessions, so you should not have problems. Nero does appear to add a little of its own which results in complaints of not being able to check updated files if you try to run a second session on a disk created by Roxio software, but that can be ignored. To the specific question - yes you can install both those Mastering programs on the same machine. What you must not mix are the packet-writing InCD and DirectCD (now Drag to Disk).. The XP inbuilt software BTW does not do packet writing at all. -- Alex Nichol Bournemouth, U.K. |
