Default I screwed up the bios - what now?

I was given a Gateway SP7-550 and was trying to configure the bios for
a second hard drive in a mobile rack when I screwed up the settings.
Now I get this message:

Fixed Disk 0: Configured in setup
ATA Device: Configured as removable

and the system stops there; I can't even get into the CMOS to
reconfigure.

I didn't change the setting for the original hard drive - it remained
the primary master. I put my Windows XP disc into the CD Drive, but
no reponse there - haven't tried a floppy boot disk yet, but I suspect
a bios-flashing is in order.

Does it sound like this is the case - and if so, can anyone advise
where the bios recovery jumper is? I've found something I suspect may
be it - a three pin jumper with two pins connected, located between
the an Intel chip and one labeled (with copyright Phoenix industries
printed on it), near the battery. Is this it, or did I permanently
screw the thing up.

Thanks in advance...

I'm not familiar with the motherboard, so I can't help find a CMOS reset jumper.
But removing the C2032 3v lithium coin-sized battery for a few hours should
accomplish the same.

You do not need to reflash the BIOS... Ben Myers

Thanks, Ben. I'll give it a try.
