Default flash gigabyte bios

Hi!

I have a gigabyte GA-7ZX

Aafter downloading the new bios file from giga-byte.com i copyed the files
to a floppy and rebooted. The boot sequence stoped at the floppy but only
asked
me to "remove all disks" and "press any key". I tryed runing the
autoexec.bat file inside windows (XP Home) and i got to the flash program
and it gave me the following error messages in order

1)chipset not supported press any key
2) the flash part is not supported press any key
3)make sure the flash is not portected press any key

then it entered the program

even after checking the BIOS and making sure the flash protection was off
I
sill get the same results. reading the websites PDF files

Can someone please help?

Did you make the floppy bootable?
That is the standard way of doing it, unless your board has
a *bug-free* flash routine built into the bios which for
some odd reason you simply MUST use.

Do not run autoexec from within windows, bios flashing with
dos flasher should only be done in pure dos.

1)chipset not supported press any key
2) the flash part is not supported press any key
3)make sure the flash is not portected press any key

then it entered the program

Try again with bootable floppy, in DOS, and if it doesn't
work giving the unsupported or unknown flash message then
copy a bunch of different versions of the flasher to the
floppy, reboot to the floppy and try each in turn.

Also, if you do not have a DOS boot disk you might get one at bootdisk.com.

If you can't get that far you are not qualified to flash a BIOS.Do
yourself a favour and find someone local to help you otherwise you may
fully screw up your system!!!
If you do wish to continue the see sig for email.Your choice.

Not meaning to be disrespectful towards the OP, I agree with your comments
Shep. BIOS flashing should really be performed by people who know what
they're doing. Even with Gigabyte's dual BIOS arrangement (used on some of
their boards), there's still the potential to muck things up.

trouble
