Default HP Omnibook Xe2 LCD Screen half out

I bought my mother a secondhand HP Ombibook Xe2 last year. Big
mistake. After a few weeks the left side of the screen is out. If I
squeze the bottom part of the screen it might come on, but after a
while that stopped doing the trick. Is there anything I can do to fix
that?
