keep the 4200 . invest in a new card later on . reviews have shown that the
4200 is faster than a 5200. check on www.tomshardware.com and anadtech.com and also on www.guru3dcom for the latest reviews. "John Smith" wrote in message ... The FX5200 is on par with a GF3, but only if it is the 128bit memory bus version. If it only has a 64bit memory bus, it's no better than a MX card. |

Thanks for the advice guys
Its only for the odd game now and then in my second rig Can i presume the 128Mb version is 128 bit and the 64 Mb version is 64 bit or is there more to it than that. Smiffy |

Smiffy Definitly not. Their are a slew of 128MB cards with the crippled 64bit memory bus. All of the 64MB cards are 64bit though, so stay away from them for sure. You'll just have to make sure your getting the true 128bit version. I'd suggest buying from a reputable dealer as opposed to buying to buying from whoever has the best price. |

Smiffy Then get a MX440...I had a chance to put a 5200 128m 128Bit card in a system....It was jsut bad. I put my old MX440 in same box and got slight improvement....better FPS....and smoother gameplay. Im really disappointeed that Nvidia did it again. GF4 MX series/fx5200 cards are cheap but you truly get what ya paid for I have a Ti4200 Chaintech in this machine clocked to 300/650 (Gold Edition with factory ram sinks and killer fan) and it blew the 5200 Away.....using Det 34.51 drivers and NVHardpage Tweak prog.
