GeForce 4 440MX problems in game 'BloodRayne'
I believe those are DX9? options, and do not work with non-DX9 cards. Unless you want to buy an FX
series card or a 9000 series ATI card, leave those features turned off in your game. -- Biz "Don't touch that please, your primitive intellect wouldn't understand alloys and compositions and,......things with molecular structures,....and the....." - Ash "MheAd" wrote in message news:WcOTa.19399$KF1.307695@amstwist00... Hello! I've just installed the game 'BloodRayne' on my computer: Athlon 2000+ 256MB DDR GF4 440MX 64MB Win98 Second Edition with latest nVIDIA drivers + DirectX 9.0a. I'm experiencing the serious graphic problems when I activate "Dynamic Shadows" and "Bump Mapping". The textures of the main character gets light blue color instead and most of the game envoiroment literally disapears !!! When I run the game on 1024x768 (or even higher) with 32-bit colors, complex textures, complex water reflections, it works very well. So it's only those two mentioned options which cause these problems. I know that this card is far away from being the best but it did do the good job so far in all games that I played (which were far more graphicaly complex then this one). The game manifacturer is not mentioning anything in readme.txt nor on the website about compatibility issues with my card. So, do you have any idea what could possibly go wrong? Thanks in advance! Bump Mapping has been around since DX8, but even if the DX9 functions are not supported in hardware, they are emulated in software. My R7500 is a DX7 generation card, but it runs DX9, albeit quite slowly |
