WHQLd 4403 & Quadro4 750XGL = crash
So we are testing out some new drivers and updates from windows update.
After several updates, including DirectX9a and the graphics driver version 4403 that we got from microsoft, plus some hotfixes MS03-23, MS03-24, we end up with unstable systems that randomly crash. No BSOD, just goodbye and a black screen. Now we have had to test each update individually to identify the problem. here is the problem: NVidia graphics driver 4403 from microsoft. This one is different than the 4403 that we got from nvidia.com. The one from nvidia is only WHQLd for the QuadroFX line. The version of 4403 we got from microsoft.com is supposedly WHQLd for all nvidia graphics, not just the FX. Problem is that it crashes our systems. So much for thinking that microsoft released an improved 4403, we can't even use this one! Good luck and avoid this 4403! PS "This post represents MY opinion and experiences only" |
