Default Having probelms with Windows Update on XP

I know this is a hardware problem but was hoping someone would be able to
help!

After trying to update and after clicking 'Express install' and it coming

up
"Windows Update is looking for available updates..." i get this:

[Error number: 0x80248011]
Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the
requested page. You may find the following resources helpful in resolving
the problem:
For self-help options:

a.. Windows Update Response Center

b.. Windows Update Troubleshooter

c.. Windows Update Newsgroups
For assisted support options:

a.. Microsoft Online Assisted Support (no-cost for Windows Update
issues)

Read more about steps you can take to resolve this problem yourself.

Tried looking for the error number but got nowhere.

This happened to anyone else?

Scott

Oops! meant to write that it is NOT a hardware problem. Really should start
proof reading!

Make sure the time and date on the PC are correct, or it won't update.

Try deleting the Windows Update Class in IE/tools/internet options/temp
internet files-settings/view objects/Update Class. Visit windows update to
install it again.
