Default OCZ memory

I got a barton 2500 and it's made before the lock of the multiplicator
and it's at the moment running at 12.5\175.The reason I don't raise the
bus speed more is my bad memorys.I got 2 256 pc3400.The brand is
Apacer. If I just raise the bus speed to 176 I get errors running prime
95.And I got the cas and other settings very slow set, it's like
8-4-4-3.Then I read others having the same mobo as I do(Asus A7N8X rev2
deluxe) running in speeds past 200.I think I have to get new memory.I
saw a sign for memorys called :OCZ 256MB DDR500 PC-4000 .I'm thinking of
getting two of those. They are not that expensive but do have lifetime
warranty.Do somebody know if they got a good reputation when it comes to
tweaking bus speeds and so on.Please let me know as I don't fancy
getting ripped of twice buying memorys.Regards

It may not be the memory. Have you tried increasing the voltage to the CPU or
DIMMs? It could also be your HD(IDE,PCI bus) doesn't like to be overclocked

I would lock the AGP at 66Mhz And try 200x11.
12.5x200 is 2500Mhz.
12.5x176 is probably to much for the cpu.
Lower the multiplier to say...10x200 and reboot
if tyou get the 2000Mhz then try 11x200 for 3200+ speed of 2.2ghz.
Default Vcore is 1.65...maybe raise to 1.70 if not stable at 200FSB x11
I had a 2100+ that ran that with 1.70Vcore and now have a Mobile Barton 2500
@ 11.5x200 for 2300Mhz 1.60Vcore.
You need to def lower the multiplier and raise fsb IMHO.

Well, I've seen PC24000 ram, but never PC3400, so I suspect you have
PC2400, and running it at 175MHz is already overclocking it a lot. Now if
you want to make sure it's a ram problem, just run it out of sync and go
ahead and raise the FSB.

Tried to raise the voltage to everything and it does not make any
difference except for that the temp goes up a little bit.ANd i got two
hard drives one ide and one sata.
But according to prime 95 it's the memory that gives errors when raising
the fsb up to 276.what do ya think?
have a nice day

Hi Wes
I think you are wrong about the memory. The sticker says 3400
and if you do a goggle on apacer 3400 you'll be surprised.
What do you mean "run it out of sync"
regards Al

Sorry Wes I mean 3200.That's what the sticker says and what to search
for. They are supposed to run in 2/200

Then I stand corrected, it's just i don't recall ever seeing PC3400. Out
of sync means to run the FSB and ram buses at different speeds, like FSB
at 200MHz and ram at 166MHz or vice versa, anything except the same speed.

Some PC3200 ram just won't make 200MHz, but it should come closer than
176MHz, unless you don't have a PCI lock on your MB. You night try a
little more voltage to the ram. Raise it by.1-..2v and try it there and
make sure all the timings are set to slow.
