Default See through label CD-Rs have problems in older CD-ROM drives?

Is it me or do older CD-ROM drives have problems reading thse CD-R
brands (700 MB)? I noticed I can see through the CD if I hold it up
over a bright light. Is this why? Laser not being reflected correctly?

Thank you in advance.

No, that's not likely to have anything to do with it.
