x700 working like a dog
Can anybody help me?
I've just upgraded my system with a X700 series 256MB AGP video card. The problem I'm having now is that games like call of duty are really slowing down in the frame rate. I reinstalled the video card and the games with no difference I was thinking possibly it's a RAM problem my computer specs are at the bottom of this message I think the RAM is 133MHz any help would be greatly appreciated regards Colin -- OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600 OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation System Name JF5KR4SC4 System Manufacturer GBT___ System Model AWRDACPI System Type X86-based PC Processor x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 7 GenuineIntel ~2679 Mhz BIOS Version/Date Award Software International, Inc. Maybe you should check that web site of that game and see if there is a patch for the video card or for slow performance pc witch i think your pc is with the 133 sdram memory you got. it sounds like you will have to choice from keeping the system you've got or upgrading your motherboard and memory and the video card IF you want AGP video card vs PCI-E. sorry |

Is this available memory when the game is running or in Windows desktop? I have the same amount of RAM & same OS and I have 724mb of ram free, using 186mb of pagefile sitting in desktop with Windows Task Manager open. Looks like you have too many background applications running. I think the RAM is 133MHz ?? You better not be using 133MHz ram (with a P4 2.6GHz) that would kill COD. A little more information on what motherboard you have would be helpful. I run a PCIe X700 256mb on a P4-3.0GHz LGA775 socket w/1gig DDR400MHz (2-512mb) onboard RealTec Audio & Intel LAN, SATA 10k Raptor drives (4) with most current games running on High video settings at 1024x768. The lowest FPS I've seen in Quake 4 is 17fps and is usually in the 40 to 60fps. through the whole game. |
