Indeed it is ugly, but the layout, with air intakes on both sides of the
package, is quite practical in a quad-SLI setup. By contrast, in a 4870X2
CrossfireX setup, the top card chokes because its fan is blocked by the
bottom card.

The site reports 298W TDP for the GTX295. It will be interesting to see what
the actual power consumption ends up being. The 4870X2 draws 264W according
to XBitLabs measurements:
