Default Asus or Nvidia?? What the heck is going on???

Hi,

I have Win XP with ServicePack1. Also a Epox KHA8+ with the ASUS V9520/TD -
GeForce FX 5200 Grafic card [128MB].

I installed everything in a proper way.

But when I play Medal of Honour or TopGun, the Game always crashed sometime
in the game, not with bluescreen, the game just dissapears.

When it comes to a blue screen crash it sais: STOP blablabla anv4disp.dll
But this is the newest driver I downloaded directly from nvidia.com

So my question is, why does the game dissapear in the game with no reason?
And *What* can I do to prevent this?
I read all the faq and stuff, but I have the newest driver, so whats the
prob?

Cheers
Peter

P.S. Which drivers are you using?
The ASUS drivers or the nvidia drivers?

I've used both Asus drivers and Nvidia drivers without any trouble on an A7v
133-c Board. If the Dets are giving you trouble try unistalling them and
giving the Asus version a shot, you never know.

Hi,

I have Duron 700 with 256 MB RAM WinXP Pro.

I have the upper written Problem also with my ASUS 6600/Nividia 256 Grafic
card. [has just 32mb].

So my thought is that the prob is not the grafic card but maybe the RAM?

I also wonder why some other guys in another thread said, they had the

same
prob because of the power supply.
I have a 300W Powersupply in here and it was enough all the days, untoil
now........

:-((

A stop error usually points to a driver problem. You should replace the
Nvidia reference drivers with the Asus ones. Update all the service packs
for XP I think they have 1a or 2 now. Make sure you got the latest directX
(9b I think) installed. Finally be sure to have the most up to date drivers
for all your other hardware.

Switch on Debugging :-)

It could be ya memory so check it.

If you have more than one stick of memory try taking one out then swapping
them around and see if the problem persists.

Oh yeah and check to see if there are patches for the game.

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me.

Rule out heat and power problems before moving on to driver issues.

Monitor
your CPU, case temperatures and power delivery for a while to make sure

your
problems are not hardware related. You could also try running with the

case
cover off to see if this helps you remain stable.

CPU Temparature is always at 45-50°C
Graficcard temp is around 60°C in action....

Make sure when you upgrade drivers, you complete remove the old ones.
Google how to regedit the old ones out if possible.

OK, now try to get a better powersupply.

Hello,
can you tell me a plausible reason why my problem is linked with the
powersupply?
My powersupply has 350 W that should be enough for a Duron 700 with 256MB
RAM
and a ASUS Geforce FX5200 and a 8GB Harddrive.
thats all which is connected to my board..
I don't understand the link between my disapearing application (medal of
honour) and the 250W powersupply..

Could anyone help me please?

:-)

Thank you!
