Setting Max Drive Speed with Nero ?

Burn speed is set by the drive, not Nero. your try changing your media.

When I go to actually write a CD, it only displays 6x, the speed
of my Yamaha CD is 8x. If I look under the drive's properties in
Nero is says that it's an 8x drive. However, if I go to burn, 6x is
the maximum choice in the speed dropdown. I tried running a speed
test but the max it will test for is 6x.

I figured this out once before after the initial Nero installation,
but I can't recall what I did to set it. I remember it being something
really obscure. (My drive "hung"on a bad CD and when I rebooted the
system, it had reverted to the 6x setting).
