I have the latest Catalyst drivers. Can anyone tell me what's better (or
worse) about the Omega drivers? Are they stable? Bobby "Randy" wrote in message ... http://www.omegacorner.com/ |

Bobby As stable as the ATI ones, the driver behind them is to increase graphics quality in games & they usually include the softmods that work with some of the cards. Some people like them some people don't, some people find they work better for their rig than the official, some people don't. Best bet is to try them for yourself and see which works for you. |

They are slower (for me) than the old ones. However, I seem to spot that the image quality is better, maybe I'm getting old and the eyesight's failing. Both versions are more stable than those before. -- Julian Richards julian-richards "at" ntlworld.com XP Home L7S7A2 motherboard Powercolor 9800 SE 8 pipelines with Omega drivers 1 GB RAM 10 GB + 80 GB HDs CD+DVD/CDRW drives |

I've just removed the new Omega driver and re-installed the ATI one. My
system froze twice this evening - when it's normally rock solid. I didn't notice any improvement in the visuals or the speed so there seemed little point in keeping the Omega driver. But it appears to have removed itself without problems. Bobby "Randy" wrote in message ... http://www.omegacorner.com/ |

I have the Radeon 9700 Pro and the difference I found between the ATI
4.1 and the Omega driver is that my CPU Barton 3200+ under full load is about 10C cooler with the Omega driver. Can anyone explain that?
