which ip port ?

Hi, which IP PORT does the WOL feature use ? I want to make a forward of that port in my router to my local network, port PPPP to XX.XX.XX.255 but I don't know what port I must use. thanks in advance So what exactly have you been doing? You sent magic packets but no wakeup? This is a command line arugment? Have you been specifing the mac address? The IP number isn't used except to get the packet TO the machine (with that mac address) if the router won't allow broadcasts. It doesn't matter what port number, IIRC, so long as it's a port the router will pass, but then it doesn't even need the IP for the WOL otherwise, but try something like: 192.168.0.37-AA:BB:CC:11:22:33 Then try with a known good port number appended. Maybe i'm wrong though, I don't use WOL anymore, not in a long time and not often when I did... let us know the solution. Dave |
