samsung ml-2250 laser printer memory

I was ready to purchase a brand new Samsung Laser Printer #ML-2250
until I noticed that it comes with only 8mb installed standard memory.

I thought ok, just purchase a memory upgrade until I went on the web &
found that 64 mb upgrades cost well over $250.

is this for real? is it an error? 64 mb upgrades for other laser
printers are well under $100.

This is sad but true. Genuine Samsung memory is quite expensive.
Another option though is to look for some aftermarket memory chips. A
quick search on Google turned up this:

I don't know what they are like but it looks a hell of a lot cheaper.

A few months ago I purchased a 128 MB SODIMM for my ML 2150 printer
and I'm sure I installed it properly. However the printer
configuration page still shows 16 MB of RAM. And if I am printing
complicated PowerPoint slides with graphics, I sometimes get print
failures with "MEMORY FULL" messages.

When I asked a Samsung customer support rep about this, he said I
should buy Samsung memory (at their prices!).

What to do?

Does anyone have third party memory in their Samsung laser printer
that does work and does show up in the printer config page?

I can second that statement.

I even asked a Samsung customer rep about this pricing when I had to
talk to them about a printer service issue. He say, "yeah, we know
it's a lot."

Aaron,

Sorry for the late reply.

The problem hasn't been solved, but in all truth, I haven't had a
chance to contact the supplier yet about the issue.

I guess it's time I got off my duff and did something about this
problem.
