Default Gigabyte GA-8KNXP / which memory to buy?

i'm about to buy myself some new computer parts, but i'm a bit unsure which
memory i should get. the mainboard is going to be a Gigabyte GA-8KNXP with
an intel p4 2,4 ghz cpu. since the board supports dual channel ram, i
thought two ddr400 ram bars would be good, but to be honest i dont really
know what the 400 behind the ddr stands for i this the right memory for
my mainboard/cpu combination? or is a different type faster?
