performance decrease with tv-out

i try to play game with cloning screen to tv. i saw large performance
decrease - games run much slower - i measure this with 3dmark2001 - while tc
clonning is on i loose 1500-2000 points in 3dmark - i try 4x and 5x
drivers.screen on tv is supported througt other chip than gpu so i think it
shoudn't be so much differecne in performance. Any ideas?

Are you running synched to screen refresh and a high refresh rate when just
using the PC?
If yes then the refresh rate will be reduced to the TV refresh rate when
using TV out. This means that games have to wait longer for the screen
refresh rate to happen. Try benchmarking you windows only system with the
refresh rate at that of your TV and see what happens.
