Default Jagged fonts with Leadtek GT6600

I'm using a PCI-E Leadtek GT6600 with a 19" Viewsonic PF790 CRT. When I
type a URL into IE the / comes out jagged the same happens with icons in My
Computer.

Resolution is 1024 x 768, raising it to 1280 x 1024 doesn't help. Turning on
Clear Type in display properties just makes text look blurry and doen't fix
the problem with icons. It's a clean install of XP pro SP1a. I've tried a
few driver versions and they haven't helped.
