Default Canon Lide50 Photoshop Elements Serial Number

Can anyone help?
Have purchased a Canon Lide50 scanner which has Adobe Photoshop Elements
bundled.
The Supplied CD has part no FB6-5342.
Software requires a Serial Number to install, but there is no sign of any
such number anywhere in supplied packaging or documentation.
Canon have referred me to the retailer and Adobe (very helpful of them!)
Retailer is unlikely to help.
Adobe do not have an email contact for support.
Does anyone have the associated S/N?

TIA

Bob

I have a different part number but my serial number was a 24 digit
number (6 groups of 4 digits) on the plastic sleeve that encloses the
CD. Hope this helps.

Top Posted in return.

Don't know where you're posting from, but I'm UK. Bought from Argos who are
not a specialist, but general store, and if Canon themselves are being
evasive I don't see much hope there.

Clearly, the S/N should be on the CD sleeve, but isn't.

I understand, from web search, that this is not peculiar to Canon.

I really commiserate with the original poster. I've been in a similar
situation myself but the manufacturer, Partition Magic, did send me a serial
number that worked after asking me for proof of purchase which fortunately I
could supply. I got the impression that the serial number was not the
original but it did work. It's perhaps a bit too much like password hacking
but I wonder if a few random numbers in the correct format might be tried:
six groups of four digits separated by hyphens for Elements.

Since I got into the situation because I do not keep CD sleeves, I always
try to remember to write serial numbers on the discs with a felt-tip pen. If
the serial number is on a sticker, I also transfer it to the front of any
manual.

I just recently used PhotoShop Elements and noticed that the serial number
was on the initial splash window. You can bring this up by Help--About
Photoshop Elements.

I hope this may be of some assistance.

Compare more closely and you'll see that the last 4 digits do not show.

Mac

Use Regedit to read.
The serial number is in this key. Of course it is only on a machine that

has
Elements installed correctly.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\1.0\Registration]
"SERIAL"="24 digit number"

You will change the version number to suit your version \1.0\ becomes

\2.0\
for Elements 2.0.

Thanks: the ultimate solution! I don't need it myself but the serial really
is visible to Regedit as you said.

Best wishes,

Jim.

The following post sent previously by myself does not appear to have
arrived!

Thanks to all who replied.

None of the s/n received by email worked, but the replies are appreciated.

I finally managed to contact Adobe, who sent a number on
receipt of proof of purchase, and I was able to install.

I am aware that the s/n is normally on the CD case or sleeve, but in this
instance it wasn't, and I am aware of other such occurrences.

Reading from the 'splash' screen or registry is fine once installed, but of
course, in this case, I couldn't install!
( have used the registry in the past to get an s/n for an OEM version of
Nero, in order to upgrade)

Thanks to all (especially Adobe)

Bob

After you use the Lide 50 for awhile, let us know how you like it.
