Misleading statements from Canon rep on published print life figures

Earlier this week I attended "Focus on Imaging" - a trade/enthusiast
show in the UK, and challenged a Canon rep on the question of print life
for the Canon range (specifically the new i9950 - aka i9900).

He said it was stated on the brochure, and was sooooo surprised when I
pointed out that it wasn't! Then he said (several times) that it was on
the web site, and gave me www.canon.co.uk as a reference.

I cannot find this anywhere on the web site. Can anyone help?

He also mentioned Wilhelm Imaging Research Inc, but their web site seems
to have very few test results. Are these mostly just for manufacturers
to see?

I can't see me buying a Canon printer without some statement on print
life, especially in the face of the new Epson R800.

it uses fluorescent light, which lacks some of the frequencies prints will
experience in 'real life'.

There's also some excellent information on coatings which can considerably
increase print life.
