Default What has happened to my CDRW (LTR 40125W) & DVD (LTD 163D) drives?

tried to update the firmware on my CDRW - LTR 40125W but it came up with some
sort of error saying the firmware I downloaded wasn't right. That was
yesterday.

I've just noticed that when I open 'My Computer' both my CDRW & DVD drives are
missing. So went into Device Manager and had a look to see if they were there
and they are but with a red cross through both of them. So I looked under
properties for both and they both said the same thing:-

This device is disabled. (Code 22)

Click Enable Device to enable this device.

So I clicked enable but it said 'Windows was not able to enable this device'

Then I restated my computer and went into the BIOS and it does see both my CDRW
& my DVD drive. I have also tried to play a game where it reads the cd before
it loads and it didn't try to read the cd. There are no lights on either drive
and they open & close fine.

I am using Windows XP and a Gigabyte GA7VRXP mobo.

Has a bad flash occured, is there any way I can fix it?

Cheers
