P4P800 - install single hard drive?
I am installing a single IDE 60GB hard drive on a P4p800.
Which IDE controller do I load for fresh XP installation using the F6 method? |

If it's not an SATA drive you do not have to load any IDE controller using
F6. XP will automatically load the correct controller during setup. -- DaveW "ASM" wrote in message om... I am installing a single IDE 60GB hard drive on a P4p800. Which IDE controller do I load for fresh XP installation using the F6 method? |

Use IDE port 1, not the VIA (although it would also work). As stated
by Dave no drivers are needed. Locust On Wed, 21 Apr 2004 23:01:40 GMT, "DaveW" wrote: If it's not an SATA drive you do not have to load any IDE controller using F6.
