Default NVIDIA FX 5600XT vs ATI RADEON 9800SE

?Simple Question?

Which is a better gaming card for a P4 2.8G machine:

OEM ATI RADEON 9800SE 128 DDR DH TVO DX9

or

NVIDIA FX 5600XT 256MB 8X DX9 DH TV

the 5600XT is very weak but it does have some nice features from the 5900
chipsets. Well, it can atleast run the Dawn and Dusk Nvidia demos.

Perhaps you are thinking of the 5900XT?

It's a MUCH better card

The 5900XT is about 10% faster than the 5700 Ultra. IMO the 5700 Ultra is a
dead product. It costs more to make than the 5900XT and has less
performance. Now maybe if Nvidia comes out with a 5700 Ultra with a smaller
PCB, cheaper memory and lower the price about $50, then it would make sense.

Well, I bought mine for $200 and it came with a $30 rebate, NVDVD, and 3
free games with the Nvidia tech demos.
So, If you find a deal on one I recommend it. Keep in mind that all the 5900
driver fixes also apply to the 5700.

But I agree that the 5900 is the way to go since it is usually the same
price.

A lot of things Nvidia does... doesn't make sense...

My 9800Pro PCB is aboout 60% the area of my Ti4200... And sure smaller
than a friend's 5900... Its kinda shocking.
