Default geforce 8500 gt problem

Hi members...

I have purchased a geforce 8500 gt card recently. but i have some
issues installing the card.
I inserted the card in the pci express slot, connected the monitor vga
cable to card and then started the pc.
As soon as i start the pc, red vertical lines appear on the screen.

My windows starts normally. When i installed the drivers for the card
the problem still persisted.
Even i coundnot open the nvidia control panel.

My pc configuration is:
pentium(R) D 3.40GHz.
D945GNT motherboard.
1 GB DDR2 RAM.
17 inch lg-l1752s lcd monitor.

Kindly help me resolve this problem...

Thanx & regards,
Sachin Hegde

Remove and reseat. If the symptoms persist, it's almost certain it's a bad
card. Likely a memory module.

Red lines (persisting in 2D/3D) across the screen is typically indicative of
a bad memory module on the video card. Not one of your m/b memory modules.

I second video memory chip failure by static discharge.
