Default Arctic Cooling: Accelero S1 VGA Cooler

Anyone have any experience with this graphic card cooler (or something
similar)?

http://www.arctic-cooling.com/vga2.php?idx=138

If so... a few questions for you?

1) How did it work for you?

2) It looks fanless to me... is it? Will it really work better then
the stock cooling/fans on my 7800 GTX?

3) It's going to be placed on the top card in an SLI system. Heat from
the lower card rises into the top card. The top card is at 100c under -
extreme- load. The lower card is usually 10c cooler. Any thoughts? Is
using this model of GPU cooler a good idea or should I find something
with fans? (I'm thinking a fan on the top GPU just blows heat onto the
lower GPU)

4) My mobo an Asus A8N-SLI (there is very little room inbetween the
two cards). Anyone done this type of modification in a similar SLI
situation? I'm having a hard time telling if this will fit from the
specs I see. http://www.asus.com/prog_content/mid...aspx?model=539

Any info is appreciated, thanks in advance!

There is a review here of the Accelero S1. It mounts on the GPU side of
the video card, and looks to rely on the faceplate breather holes, for
some cool intake air. That means, the exhaust fan on the rear of your
case, is doing the work of pulling air through the PCI slot cover, then
past the front face of the AC cooler. And probably not at a very high
velocity while doing so.

The S1 would fit between the video cards. It would cover one of the
PCI Express x1 connectors I can see in the picture here.

ArcticCooling makes this "Turbo Kit", to strap to the S1 or S2. This
is an alternative to making a DIY 80mm aux cooling solution for the
S1. With this in place, the pitiful small flow of intake air through
the PCI slot plate, will be no match for the Turbo kit blowing down
on the fins (just pointing out that the intake of air there, is no
longer an important part of the cooling solution - the Turbo fans
contribute a lot more cooling effect, and should really help drop
the temperature).

The hot air will circulate inside your computer case. That is the
only part I don't like about that cooler.

This one is similar to the AC product, only the fan is built-in.
This one would circulate hot air in the computer case as well.

I still prefer a design which exhausts air out of the computer
case, as then it doesn't raise the chassis temperature. The
AC Nvidia5 Rev 3 does that, and so does this one.
