eVGA 7900GS & Samsung 173P DVI problem after installing MagicTune
I recently decided to install the 64-bit version of Samsung's display
adjustment software called MagicTune. I have a Samsung 173P display, which only features an external on/off button. I am running an eVGA 7900 GS video card. The display is connected by a DVI cable. After I installed the software, on a restart I noticed that the Asus boot-up picture was brighter than usual. In fact I could no longer read part of the text on it which tells me which button to press to access the boot menu. I uninstalled the MagicTune software, but the problem remained. I reinstalled the latest nVidia drivers from eVGA's website, no change. I re-installed the entire operating system, no change. Either the software permanently changed something on my video card, or on my monitor. I just want to go back to the way things were before, when the display was automatically detected and all the defaults were perfect. |

eVGA 7900GS & Samsung 173P DVI problem after installing MagicTune
The way I see it is that MagicTune software changed your display
settings.........in the LCD not on your system. Just Like I can fiddle with the Display settings manually on my LCD.........and leave it there.Reboot after reboot will not change it. I assume you are running XP 64 bit and have all 64bit Hardware Drivers?? So I would suggest to run the Samsung software.........and do a manual adjustment with the software peter "nandrosa" wrote in message ups.com... I have a Samsung 940bx connected via DVI and the way I understand it is that Magictune is only used if you connect via analog (vga cable). -- Dennis |

To utilize the AUTO mode, hold the power button for at least 3 seconds until AUTO begins its task." Give the power button a try, and see if holding the power button for three seconds, will restore the screen appearance. You should hear a beep, acknowledging the Auto setting.
