Default 6200 card vs 4200 card

Will a 6200 card be much faster than my existing 4200 card?

Asus claim the 6200 card is 210% faster that the FX5700 card,
and the 5700 IS faster than the 4200 card - or isn't it :-)

Since my 4200 card almost does the trick today, but is a bit slow in
HL2 and lacks DX9 hardware support I wonder if the 6200 will do?

I run HL2 in 800x600 with 15-30 fps with the 4200 today and all I need
is to get up to 30-60 fps, and maybe 2x AA (or Quinqunx AA).

Will the 6200 do that, or do I need anything more?

What other card would do that (have looked at the 7600GS, but I think
it will need to much power, and then I need a new PSU as well, but the
6200 seems like a smaller card and w/o fan I guess it is low-power).

The 6200 has a lower peak pixel fill rate than the 4200, 700
Megapixels/Second compared with 1000 MP/s.

The 6600GT was about the sweet spot for it's generation, with the
increase in performance of the 6800 over the 6600 being less than the
increase in price.

A friend of mine bought a 6600GT, but had problems with HL2 and current
drivers at the time, and replaced it with a radeon X800GTO which he was
very happy with.

Now days you should be able to get a 6800 for a decent price, although
my Radeon 9600 was delivering upwards of 50 fps at 1024x768. The 6600
was supposed to be about the same performance as that card. It's been a
while since I've used it though, so I can't remember what AA settings etc.

Hope it helps,

Cameron.
