Default Damaged to cpu?

I managed to pull a AMD64 s939 cpu out of its socket without releasing the
lever on the side of the socket! After a thorough examination it seems to
be ok (no missing/bent pins) but, apart from actually plugging it in to
another mobo, is it possible that it will still work?

Dan

(i should add that the power was off - of course! )
