Default Trying to boot WindowsXP on Asus A8N-SLI

I've just put a new system together and I'm trying to install WindowsXP.
I have a striping RAID 0 system set up on 2 SATA drives. After loading
XP onto a partition, the install process reboots. I then get a message
"Error, unable to read from disk" when it tries to continue with the
install. If I go into the troubleshooter mode of the XP install tool, I
can see all the files loaded on the C: partition.

Any ideas why I'm getting the read error during the boot?

Did you load the SATA drivers when setup asks you to press F6?
