"ATI file player" video files or how to UNINSTALL A-I-W software?
I replaced my A-I-W, 8500DV video card with a nVidea TI-4200 VIVO
video card. I went thru the uninstall process. But still any NEW VIDEO file.... is labeled "ATI file player". I don't why but my Win-DVD player balks at playing these ATI branded video files. I searched 'files and folders' and can't find the program that is causing this. I did find some files that refered to ATIVIDEO.QTC, Atiidtxx.dll, ATI Desktop Control Panel, and atiptaxx (some kind of application I found in C:\WINDOWS\system32)... there's a lot of ATI-looking files. I know the All in Wonder software package is big....... but, short of reformating my HD, how to I stop creating "ATI FILE PLAYER" video files? thanks for reading this message to the end, I hope I was clear. was worth saying: I replaced my A-I-W, 8500DV video card with a nVidea TI-4200 VIVO video card. I went thru the uninstall process. But still any NEW VIDEO file.... is labeled "ATI file player". I don't why but my Win-DVD player balks at playing these ATI branded video files. What program are you using to cap video now? Try opening that program and see if it can become associated with the video files. Try looking here for further instructions on eradicating ATI softwa http://drivers.driverheaven.net/misc...age=uninstall2 You may need to look at page one, link near the bottom of the page. thanks for reading this message to the end, I hope I was clear. Don't you just love stories with happy endings??
PatrickP / Lenroc, A sincere "thanks" for your time. As suggested: searchfiles&folders ATI*.*, removed all the drivers. http://drivers.driverheaven.net/misc...age=uninstall2 got me to REGEDIT. HKEY is where I removed all the ATI regestry applications/folders. I am now producing Intervideo video files. GOOD JOB, gentlemen. JC, tampa |
