ASUS P2-99 mobo question -- EIDE compatible?
Posting for someone else...
Can anyone tell me if an EIDE hard drive will work on this? http://asus.ingenuity.net/products/S...p2-99-Spec.asp Google didn't yield much info. Thanks. -- DC Don't get Longhorned -- get Linux.

So, if I read into your brief response, it will use the device fine, but will not take advantage of the Enhanced part of EIDE? It will work fine, but with a couple of limitations which have nothing to do with "enhanced" IDE, as the distinction you are trying to make. 1) It supports ATA33, not ATA66/100/133, so any drive capable of 33MB/s will be significantly bottlenecked. 2) The motherboard may need a bios update to support drives over 32GB in size.
