Default Pc2-8000 (1ghz)

Ok, I am wondering what kind of motherboard I need support
"Pc2-8000 (1ghz)" memory?
I know that pc-6400 is in common use, but I can't seem to find alot of info about pc2-8000. Is it so new that I can't get retail motherboards that will support it?

Oh, And is it for desktops? I have a hunch that it is only for servers.
Any help would be appreciated.
