What exactly can I do with 256mb card that I cant do with a 128mb one?

Load bigger texture maps.


Run at higher resolutions with more AA/AF; providing your GPU can handle
the extra load and you aren't fillrate limited. Also, 256-bit bus cards
greatly benefit from extra memory -- while generic 128-bit cards don't
tend to.
