I don't know if this is a problem with Giganews or something else but I have noticed that a couple of the posts I have made do not show up on this news server. Fortunately, they have shown up in some people's news since there are references to my post.
Is this group moderated?

I am not aware of this being a moderated group.

I've not been "moderated".

And posts appear far too quick = no, no moderation.

Yes, Jez, it seems very clear that NOBODY is moderated.

Who started this group ?
I couldn't post here through Bellsouth for months. After a long discussion
with Bellsouth, they said it was listed as a moderated group. They removed
that flag from the Bellsouth servers after I said I didn't believe it was
moderated and that enabled me to post normally.
I'm not a "newsgroup" expert so my knowledge of how the groups are set up
and maintained is limited.
Personally, I thought Nutcracker might have started this group!

why not just go all out ...

alt.sys.real.servers.compaq

or

comp.servers.proliant

I could set those up with the NNTP features of my exchange cluster (yah, i
got the 6400R's running in a 2003 cluster, active/passive with one node
running exchange and the other running SQL) ... the thing is, i dont know
how to get those installed into the global hierarchy, so unless you connect
to me as an NNTP server, nobody else would be able to get to them.

Gr8 isn't it!

If I actually got paid to give advice about compaq server sort of thingies,
I would be moderated, or at least I'd have to be polite. The thing about
usenet is that it affords a certain degree of anonymity that allows you to
sort of half lurk, half tell people what they need to hear (as opposed to
what they want to hear)
