Yes, DECevent, DIAGNOSE and DIA$MGR.

I like VMS. It's a *proper* OS. Something that Woddles' tiny brain will

A lot of people that came from the UNIX environment to VMS really didn't
like it at first... till they had to do a system backup.
The backup command had a lot of different qualifiers and was easy to
understand. I liked to just assign a function key (out of the way of
course) and just hit the key to perform the backup. Very easy after
that. Then along came DECWindows.

Indeed. I needed to clone a system disk and was astounded to find it
was as easy as backup/image/verify dka0: dqb0:

Then along came DECWindows.


That has BACKUP$MANAGER, which is just a point'n'drool front end to the
backup command.
