p4s800d-e too hot ?
My processor runs at around 60 deg. C. It runs win xp, which seems to freeze
up at random times under light load. Could this be a software issue or is my pc too hot ? Fred |

Fred It's not *too* hot, but it sounds like your CPU fan and case fans could use an upgrade. A temp of 60deg alone would not explain random freezes - mine ran at that temp for a month or 2 over the summer until I replaced the case, and had no problems at all. Most likely it's an XP thing... |

Thanks, that's pretty much what I figured... Fred |

Your CPU is running too hot. If it's running at 60 C at idle, then it's
probably getting up to 70 C under load. 70 C is the danger point for Pentiums. -- DaveW "fclaugus" wrote in message ... My processor runs at around 60 deg. C. It runs win xp, which seems to freeze up at random times under light load. Could this be a software issue or is my pc too hot ? Fred |
