Sending audio from laptop to stereo receiver
Situation: A friend's got a laptop 10 feet from her stereo receiver. She
wants to send music to the receiver. (I know - headphone output's not ideal, but that's her problem). Running a wire is not possible because of the stupid design of the house. Is there some sort of two part wireless toy that can do this, preferably smaller than a toaster on the laptop side of things? If it exists, Circuit City's got it really well hidden on their site. |

Yes, you can get FM radio transmitters and they arent physically large. Intended for use in cars mostly, but they would work in this case too. If it exists, Circuit City's got it really well hidden on their site. You need to look in the general electronics/car radio type sites. |

SIIG CE-WALP12 Wireless Audio Link Pro FM Transmitter $50 http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2542524 And like any good Radioshack product, runs off a battery, and has no frequency response spec. The "A" version looks like the RadioShack one. The "A" can use its USB cable, to get +5V as a power source. Transmitter range 8-10 meters on the FM band. Selectable frequency. http://www.siig.com/manuals/04-0302A.pdf http://www.siig.com/manuals/04-0302d.pdf This is just ordinary analog transmission. Tune the stereo to the appropriate FM frequency. Google for FM Transmitters. Made mostly for in-car use to play an MP3 player to a cars FM radio, it will do what you want. |
