Hello,
I've made cabrio my 3800+ X2 and I have seen
some bridges like in the XP series.
Is possible to unlock the multiplier?
In the XP serie if you join the bridges you
can unlock the multiplier......
I'm sorry for my bad english but I'm italian
and my english is terrible.
Very thx

No. The only AMD CPUs that have an unlocked multiplier these days are the
FXs.

Strictly speaking, the multiplier on the 3800+ X2 isn't locked. The
*maximum* value that you can select is the default one (10X), but lower ones
are available.

I've read that only the FX CPUs permit the use of higher multipliers than
the standard one. I have heard of no one modifying the non-FX CPUs, even
with the heat spreader removed. (I presume that's what you mean by "made
cabrio".)

However, the bus frequency, hypertransport multiplier, and RAM multipliers
are adjustable on some (most?) mainboards. There are a lot of overclocking
adjustments possible, even if you can't raise the CPU multiplier.

Address scrambled. Replace nkbob with bobkn.
