I think the best feature of PCI Express is the multiple slots. I had an
AGP video card with VIVO and wanted better game performance. My options
were to get a new card with VIVO, buy a PCI capture card of lose the
feature. With PCIe, I could keep my old graphics card for VIVO while
getting a new one for games.


You could, but personally I find that the standalone capture boards are much
more satisfactory.
