A7V600 SATA RAID cache problem
Hi! I am currently using an A7V600 and have recently installed the Windows XP on two new SATA drives. While that worked fine, I have the problem that it looks like the write cache is not properly flushed when I shut down the machine. I regularly get a disk check on boot up or applications which do not remember the settings I entered last, even though the machine is properly shut down. I think I remember that there used to be a problem once with large hard disks and Windows shutting down but I have installed SP1 and all the latest patches, so I think that this may be a different problem. I am using the A7V600 with 1 GB of RAM and 2x Seatgate 160GB SATA hard disks on the VIA RAID controller with the latest drivers installed. Any ideas? TIA Stefan |
