Default Medion - better deal than Dell?

No I did not buy it at Costco. I saw it in a Aldi ad (I can hear the
laughter :-)) from the Sunday paper. I get alot of ribbing for going
to Aldi to buy a computer, but I think I got a deal! I got everything
back March for $699. That was without the monitor.

I recently bought a Medion computer and have been very satisfied with
it. I would not compare it to an eMachine.

If you are technically inclined, then this computer is a great deal.
It has some pretty good components. My specs a Intel p4 2.66Ghz,
512Mb Samsung DDR 333Mhz Ram, 128MB Nvidia GeoForce4 Ti 4200 AGP 8x,
Sony 40x CDRW, Sony DVD ROM, Seagate 120Mb Hard drive, 5 USB, 3
Firewire, 533Mhz FSB, 6 channel audio card, 10/100MBit network
connection, and flash memory card readers.

I don't know if support is any good, but then again I would probably
never use it since I'm the type of person who would reformat the drive
and install my choice of OS and applications. Their website is very
scarce, but I have updated my drivers and firmware with files provided
from their site as well as files from the component manufacturer's
site.

The only downside I had with the machine is that I thought it needed
another fan. I think the casing is a little on the small side so I
bought another fan and installed it inside the case to help airflow.
