Trouble Installing Windows XP on RAID0
I am having difficulty installing windows XP pro on my SATA hard drives
for RAID 0. I have set my BIOS configuration correctly to enable the RAID. I have gone into the nVidia RAID configuration and setup the two drives for RAID 0 and can see the status on those drives as a healthy volume. I then booted to the Windows XP CD for installation, press F6 to install the drivers for the RAID. After installing those two drivers, I then proceeded to format the volume and begin the process of installing the OS. However, when the installation process gets to the part where it says the system will reboot in 15 seconds, after the timer finishes counting down, the computer does not restart. It just sits there not rebooting. So, I decided that I would manually reboot. Aftere which I booted to the RAID that I had setup and the windows installation started up. I went through all of the normal setup information and when it reached the end of the install, just after it deletes the temp files, it sits there with a blank screen and a mouse cursor and does not restart. When I try to manually restart and boot to the HD, I get a blue screen indicating that the Windows could not boot. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but any help would be appreciative. |

Usually thats the ACPI/APIC setting in the bios thats stopping the system being restarted at the software level. And its important to start the full install again and format the partition, XP doesnt like having that changed behind its back. |
