Default gfx card

hi, i'm running a geforce 3 ti200,

i'm getting some red vertical lines on icons and i'm nearly certain this is
to do with overheating, am i correct in my assumption. ? (running xp btw
and it only occurs after some time)

thanks.

ps.. any £50ish cards that are better then the ti200 out now? i have lost
track of what is good and what is not since it all got confusing with the
gefore 4's and 9000 pros etc..
