Default Catalyst 9.7 To Have New GUI

From the Catalyst 9.7 release notes:
"The new ATI Catalyst Control Center is supported under Windows 7 and
Windows Vista"

I just installed it on my Windows XP unit. Aside from the Welcome screen,
all is the same as before.

Someone should tell the idiots at AMD:

"Dear Customer,

Your service request : SR #{ticketno:[]} has been reviewed and updated.

Response and Service Request History:

The Catlyst 9.7 drivers do not have the same interface as the previous
drivers. How are you trying to rotate the display?

Are you able to simply rotate in the Windows display properties?

In order to update this service request, please respond, leaving the service
request reference intact.

Best regards,

AMD Global Customer Care"

They know I'm running XP Pro SP3.

Dont you mean OpenCL ?????? Both ATI and nVidia already support OpenGL, and
both are supposedly supporting soon the OpenCL standard.

But game developers seem to have lost interest in OpenGL...

Actually, what haoppened to OpenGL? Why don't both ATI & Nvidia support
it?

They do, unless you download the drivers from Windows Update. It's Microsoft
that doesn't support it and not ATI or Nvidia. Download the driver from
Windows Update and you get no OpenGL. Something that Microsoft neglects to
mention. I have a few games that use OpenGL and they run fine on both Nvidia
and ATI cards.

Probably because Directx is now more advanced than OpenGL and is easier to
program for now too.
